I Don’t Regret Anything

Every action I’ve taken led me here, to where I am now. If I changed anything, I’d change everything. And honestly, if I ever did something wrong or made a mistake, it was because I didn’t know better at the time. No one is born knowing everything — and we don’t die knowing it all either. Nobody has all the answers.
Accepting What We Knew Back Then
If I could change something? I wouldn’t. I really mean it. Whether in the past or now, I’ve always acted the best I could with what I knew at the time.
“Ah, if only I knew then what I know now” — that’s the kind of phrase that makes us wonder what we’d do differently. But the truth is: back then, you knew what you knew — and that’s okay. Your future self might think the same about your present self one day. But you’re doing the best you can with what you have. That’s life. We make choices and act based on what we know and feel.
Growth Comes from Learning
And all of this comes from learning, from growing. And to learn, we need to fail. When we’re learning to walk, we fall — but we get back up. We don’t look at a baby and say, “What a dumb baby I was.” That would be ridiculous. So why do we do it for other stages of our life?
The Hard Times Are Part of the Story
When my anxiety and depression were at their worst, I had to quit university and stop my driving lessons. I was in such a bad place that I simply couldn’t go on. But do I regret it? No. Is it sad? A little. But it’s part of my life, my story, and who I am. It pushed me to seek help, to reflect, and to grow.
If I could speak to the Rita from that time, I’d give her hope — and I think she’d be so proud to know how far she’s come and where she is now.We have to accept who we are, our past, and what we’ve learned from it. It’s not worth living in the “what ifs.”
Learn from Your Past
Don’t look at your past as something you can’t change — see it as a part of your life and something you can learn from.

🌱 If you're going through a tough time, I hope this text brings you a little comfort. Remember: you're exactly where you need to be to keep growing.
